Purcell Carson is a filmmaker and editor of long-form, independent documentary. Her projects have aired nationally on PBS and HBO and received several honors, including a 2009 Oscar. She has received an Emmy nomination for documentary editng as well as editing awards from the Tribeca and Woodstock film festivals.

For the last several years, Purcell has been producing her first feature documentary, about Chiquita and the global banana industry. The Kendeda Sustainability Fund, the Sulzberger Foundation, and the MacDowell Colony have generously supported this project.

Purcell divides her time between New York City and Princeton University where she is a documentarian in residence.
