The goal of the Green Bananas educational and outreach package is to expand on the themes of the feature documentary and to organize that information usefully for students, stakeholders and decision-makers. Our budget includes a comprehensive, media-rich website, added DVD material for the educational and corporate markets and outreach plans for face-to-face workshops. We are working with our advisors and supporters to make this package as flexible and robust as possible. If you or your institution would like to participate or be on our educational or outreach mailing list, please contact us.
The educational DVD will work in tandem with the website to help educators and facilitators tailor information for their audience. The additional interview and photo material collected for the website's idea pages -- plus additional footage -- will be on the DVD. In addition, the educational DVD will provide a short, introductory version of the feature film more suitable to a classroom or seminar schedule.
Gary Taylor and Pat Scharlin's book, Smart Alliance: How A Global Corporation and Environmental Activists Transformed a Tarnished Brand, was published by Yale University Press in 2004. The National Audobon Society said of it: "more than fascinating history; it is a compelling case study of collaborative success between environmentalists and a global corporation, and points to a more hopeful future."
We are also eager to use this material to reach current stakeholders and decision-makers at appropriate venues. Our team has already made preliminary presentations at NYU's School for Global Management and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. We invite you to contact us with ideas or suggestions.
